What Does it Mean to be Indian?

What Does it Mean to be Indian? An Initiative of Shree Jumani Foundation, Ahmedabad

Slide For all countries, the grassroots, national, and
international are the three levels of representation
for people for various issues related to
location, occupation, and function.
PEOPLE
IN THE
CENTRE
This animation first shows how the grassroots level
evolves to the national level which in turn evolves
to the international level. The international level
of representation from various countries creates
an international arena which becomes the central
focus for decisions affecting people’s lives at all levels.
The next two steps of the animation
visualise how the process of strengthening
the representativeness of people at the
grassroots level in each country can be
achieved by empowering them to
represent themselves at all levels from
grassroots to national to international.
The direction of change and the
scale of efforts involved in bringing
about such a shift, where the
grassroots level takes centre
stage, can be easily understood
by the movements
depicted in this animation.
